Left the trailer at 7:00 am in order to get to the visitor center in time to obtain a parking space. Zion has extremely large crowds this year and perfect weather.
Today Sue and I hike 4+ miles up the Angel Landing trail. This is and extremely steep climb and nearly continuous. For us, it was a big challenge but we make it. We were passed on the way up by a lady with a 2 year old little girl. To say we were slow does not do justice. Hope you enjoy the pictures from the hike.
Can you find the trail below?

10/07/2019 Drive to Zion National Park
A relative short 40 miles we drove through Zion NP on a beautiful morning. We took a hyperlapse move of the drive through the long tunnel and a second of the drive down to the floor of the canyon (warning you may get a little woozy watching these clips).

In the afternoon we hiked the Riverside Walk up to where
people begin hiking up the Virgin River. Following are some views along the way.

10/06/2019 Drive to Kanab,UT
10/06/2019 Drive to Kanab,UT
At 5:30 this morning our batteries quick working for no reason that we know. I started the generator for maybe 5 minutes and everything was normal. I have reported the problem to Battleborn and will wait to see what they have to say.
I also forgot to say our WiFi Ranger failed an update in Page and has been returned. Also waiting on diagnosis.
The drive was uneventful and we are camped in Kanab, UT at J &J RV park. This is a relative new park with full hookups and good WiFi.
Today was a resupply and blog update.
Keep the cards and letters comming.

10/05/2019 Cape Final Trail
10/05/2019 Cape Final Trail
Early start today to try to obtain a parking spot at the
Kiabab Trail but no success every possible spot was taken up and down the road.
Decided to go the park campground to get some phone calls and intenet.
Successfully made reservation for the next several days in Kanab and close to
Zion National Park. The park campgrounds were full as well as several of the
privates around Zion.
The gentleman at the gas station suggested we try the
Cape Final Trail. The trail is two miles one way but is relatively flat and
wide. At the end you get a nice view in to one of the side canyons. Turned out
to be a very nice hike through the forest.
Since we had not packed lunch we drove back to the hotel and
had lunch in the dinning room. Our seats were right next to the window and the
canyon. Sue’s Asian salad and my fish and chips were fantastic. This was a good
treat for us.
The weather continues to be great and the forecast is more
of the same.
One thing I learned this trip is that the North Rim is
significantly more eroded than the South Rim. The rains on the south drain away
from the canyon, The rains on the North drain into the canyon. This is why the
South rim is much more Vertical than the North.
I should mention that we saw several groups of wild turkeys
this morning.
